Red Dirt's Story:
Goods For Good
That’s what we stand for. Giving you a way to share what you're passionate about with the world.Offering you an opportunity to make an impact.
As close friends who share many ideologies, perhaps the most resounding is our belief in "to whom much is given, much is expected." Through both our volunteer work and our careers with nonprofits, we’ve been touched by the lives we've encountered. Our journeys have led us to people who are defined by poverty, disease, war, loneliness and uncertainty about the future. But we've also witnessed hope, joy, ingenuity and community. It was after we both returned from Africa in early 2012 that our limitations became clear.

We wanted to derail the cycle of poverty through commerce.
We wanted to do more good......To read more, visit here.

ALLAN CHOW
What type of media did you use to create your artwork?I use traditional oil paint on canvas. My tool of choice is a palette knife. The palette knife allows me to build my expressionistic and bold paint strokes.
Can you tell us a little about your selected design?
"Prairie Sunrise" is part of a triptych series inspired by majestic Flint Hills. The most vivid memory of the prairie is during my trip to the Symphony in the Flint Hills. I remember the perpetual landscape moving with the music provided by the Kansas City Symphony. It was magical!
Who or what inspires your work?
My beautiful wife, Hannah, nature, life and God's calling. There is just so much to say with my work and I am so thankful and blessed for the positive and inspiring messages they provide admirers of my work.
Do you have a favorite museum?
No. I actually have TWO. Our Nelson-Atkins Museum and the National Art Gallery in London by far moved me.
What would your desert island playlist include?
Salsa music for sure. Some of my favorite musicians are Hector Lavoe and Tito Puente.
Why did you want to become a Red Dirt Artist Collaborator?
I am doing my part to support and encourage organizations that are making the effort to collaborate with artists to make a difference in this world.
Current home: Kansas City, MO
Hometown: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
