A Painter at work

Thought I help my ex-employer to promote a sale of prints of me painting. This is definitely a first for me to see myself for sale as prints.

Description of Prints:
Local artist Allan Chow works on finishing a painting with a working title of "85 World Series, Crowning Moment," that depicts the Kansas City Royals team celebrating winning the final game of the 1985 World Series at Kauffman Stadium. Chow was working on the painting at the Leopold Gallery, 324 W. 63rd Street on Wednesday April 1, 2009, in Kansas City, MO. It was commissioned by HOK and the Kansas City Royals and will be placed above the entrance to the Crown Club at the stadium. John Sleezer/The Kansas City Star 4/1/09 (METRO)

Allan paints with a palette knife, applying thick impasto in brilliant colors found only in dreams. His emotions and passion pour through his spontaneous, yet controlled, brushstrokes, creating a three-dimensional experience for his audiences. During his exhibitions, viewers find it difficult to resist the temptation to touch his paintings. With his sophisticated style and obvious passion for painting, Allan has established a national following.

Allan Chow's subject matter this year will feature inspired work from the Flint Hills and San Francisco. He has worked tirelessly on this body of INSPIRED and PASSIONATE work over the summer. Meet the artist himself and join him in the celebration of his new body of work this year.

This is a juried art show with works in oil, watercolor, and acrylic as well as photography, drawing, and sculpture. The show includes works by renowned artists such as Jim Richardson, whose photography of the Flint Hills was featured in National Geographic magazine, and Stan Herd, whose artwork depicting the native tallgrass prairie is well known among collectors. Additional artists include Allan Chow, Dan Coburn, Susan Lynn, Carolyn Dvorak, Stretch, Barbara Waterman-Peters, and Chun Wang. Emerging artists are also featured in the show.
