Powell Garden's Director of Horticulture Alan Branhagen will speak about conflicting ideas of gardening and landscape of our region. Artist Allan Chow, a Malaysian and graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute, will speak about his colorful paintings inspired by Kansas City's post industrial landscape.

Allan Chow's commission at the Airline History Museum, Kansas City 060113





















Each panel is 13ft x 6 ft big. Lots of work ahead of me but the so far things are going very smoothly. Phase I: Spent the first week priming. Started out with a brush and finished my third coat with house paint rollers to speed things up.  Phase II: This week my goal is to transfer my drawing onto these large canvases. More to come....PHASE III
